Collaborative Workgroups
RealWorld Systems designs, implements and manages the tools and processes necessary to enable distributed groups to work together effectively and seamlessly. We generally begin projects of this type by conducting a discovery and scoping exercise to identify key work group challenges and possible solutions. Together with stakeholders, we define specific objectives, boundaries and expectations for the human network and, to ensure success, RealWorld Systems develops an evaluation framework and monitoring plan that is used to evaluate the success of the project and to facilitate ongoing improvements. Examples of our work in this area include the development and management of the New Investigators Network at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Technology. For more information on our work with distance research collaborations specifically please refer to our audio presentation on managing complex research projects (37 minutes). This talk outlines issues and some literature regarding the management of complex, distance and/or large scale research projects. |
